With the holidays approaching and the economy still struggling, many of us are looking for thoughtful, practical gifts we can make for our friends and loved ones. Everyone appreciates a gift made with love, especially one that smells good.

You don't have to be a Martha Stewart in training to make these simple, great-smelling soy beads. Just gather your ingredients and follow some simple steps, and you can get started on your holiday "shopping" today.
InstructionsMeasure and pour one ounce of fragrance oil into the jar. Add two drops of candle coloring to the oil if you want to make colored soy beads. Mix well with spoon. Add beads to the jar. Start with a smaller amount (a half pound) to make sure you have enough oil-dye mixture to adequately cover and saturate the beads.
Step 3Stir the beads until they are mixed thoroughly. Place the lid on the jar, and shake well. Add more beads if there is a lot of extra oil-dye mixture. Step 4Wait for the beads to fully absorb the oil, which can take a few hours to a few days. Step 5Remove the beads from the jar once they are dry. Put them in a decorative container, such as a small bowl or jar, with a porous top to let the aroma out. Be creative in the presentation of your creation.
