7 Tips To Market Your Candle Making Business For Maximum Profit

In a previous article, I discussed How To Start A Candle Making Business and how it can be an excellent business to get into because it generates repeat and ongoing sales – simply because they constantly need to be replaced. What we didn’t discuss in that article is how to market you candle making business so you can start making money with it.

Here, then, are a few tips on how to market you candle making business for maximum profit. 1. At first, just zero in on a few types of candles that you can make well and look really good. Make sure you can make that type of candle on a fairly large scale in case you get the chance to start wholesaling them to gift stores.

2. Create a candle that can become your trademark and really hype it as your exclusive candle line. 3. Go talk with stores in your area and find out what type of candles they could use at what price; then all you have to do is plan your candle production with that information in mind.

4. You can rent a window in a vacant store…or even an operating store and set up a display to show the type of candles you have to offer. Make sure you include a sign with your phone number or address.

5. Set up some candle making classes for the public. You can probably charge a small fee for the class and also sell the needed supplies as well.

6. Go to flea markets in your area and rent a booth. This will allow you to “test” the market and sell some of your candles to start getting your feet wet.

7. Take some really nice pictures of your best candles. Then, you can make up a catalog and pass that out to people in the area or send the pictures and descriptions of those candles to catalog houses who may want to sell them for you.

Once you’ve worked with candles for a little while, you’ll almost automatically start to come up with a ton of original ideas and variations. It really doesn’t matter if you produce just a few exquisite, high quality candles or a lot of easier to produce candles, what your candle business specializes in is entirely up to you.

One candle may be highly profitable if it is a work of art. Note also that candle making does not restrict you to wax only. You can sell other items that are decorated or complimented by candles, such as driftwood centerpieces with candles.
