Pizza, saw dust and fresh leather baseball mitt are not the aromas one would usually associate with the delicate art of candle making. But for one enterprising 13-year-old Ohio boy these unusual scents have brought with them the sweet smell of success. Hart Main of Marysville in central Ohio says he got the idea for his 'Mancans' when he was making fun of his sister for selling candles with girly scents for a school fund-raiser.

Columbus station WCMH-TV reported he launched his company last Thanksgiving, making the candles using scores of empty cans from soup he donated to a soup kitchen. Young Hart says so far he has sold 500 candles for $5 each, both online and at local stores. So far he has made enough profit to buy himself a nice bicycle.

Hart Main, CEO of Man Cans, said: 'My sister was selling candles for school and I was making fun of her because they were really girly scents and the idea came to me that there weren't any man-scented candles.

'We just served 250 cans of soup in a soup kitchen in Lima to get the cans. 'It was supposed to last three months. It lasted three weeks.'Hart added he could only find one niche company that sold manly-scented candles on the Internet. The candles sell for $5, but his cost is about $2.50 per can.

According to Eric McCauley, a local shop owner, the buyers aren't necessarily men 'You don't have many guys coming in and getting them,' he said. 'Sometimes you hear them say, 'My husband or boyfriend will love them.

'But a lot of ladies are buying them because they like the smell.'Luckily for the young tycoon, success hasn't gone to his head. 'I'm trying to keep a 4.0 (GPA), but I've missed days and it's hurt my grade. I really don't have much spare time,' Hart said.
