A WOMAN had a lucky escape when a burning candle set her living room on fire. Fire crews from Fulwell were called to a house in Whitburn’s Poplar Drive at about midnight on Saturday to put out the small blaze. Crew manager, Peter Ahmed, said the the owner had lit a number of candles and fallen asleep while watching television. The woman managed to get out of the house herself.
